Barcelona Zettascale Lab at the Mobile World Congress 2024

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and the Barcelona Zettascale Lab (BZL) had a prominent presence at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, held from February 26 to 29 in Barcelona. This event, known as the largest and most influential connectivity exhibition in the world, gathered over 101,000 attendees and 2,700 exhibitors from 205 countries and territories.

 Among them was Rafael Goma, principal investigator at BSC and a participant in the BZL project, who presented the center and the latest advancements in supercomputing technologies and high-performance chips based on RISC-V architecture. One of the highlights was the collaboration with Intel to develop a joint lab with an investment of 400 million euros. This lab will focus on designing chips that will power future zettascale supercomputers, multiplying the current computing capacity by a thousand. During MWC 2024, the BSC team had a booth at the Mobile World Capital and showcased their most innovative technologies in a catalog, which also included the BZL project.
