The Barcelona Zettascale Lab (BZL) had an outstanding presence at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, held in Barcelona from February 26 to 29. This event, one of the largest and most influential in the mobile technology sector, was the perfect stage for BZL to showcase its latest advancements in RISC-V architecture and high-performance computing.

During MWC24, Rafael Gomà and his team presented innovative RISC-V-based chip prototypes designed to enhance energy efficiency and performance in high-demand applications, such as artificial intelligence and automotive technology. These prototypes are part of BZL’s ongoing effort to boost Europe’s technological sovereignty, reducing reliance on third-party hardware technologies.

MWC24 offered BZL a unique platform to engage with industry leaders, potential partners, and the general public. Attendees experienced first-hand the capabilities of the new RISC-V chips developed by BZL, highlighting their efficiency and sustainability. The demonstrations included practical applications in mobile devices and other emerging technologies, emphasizing the versatility and potential of these innovations.

BZL’s participation in MWC24 not only reinforces its position as a leader in advanced technology research and development, but also demonstrates its commitment to promoting sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. These efforts align with the European Union’s strategic goals to strengthen digital capabilities and foster sustainable and equitable economic growth across the continent.

The presence of BZL at MWC24 underlines the importance of collaboration and open innovation in advancing technology. With its focus on RISC-V architecture and high-performance computing, BZL continues to set new industry standards, promoting a more sustainable and technologically independent future for Europe.
