The Future Trends Forum
At the Future Trends Forum, we aim to anticipate the major transformations that will shape our future. We bring together international leaders from diverse disciplines to identify and analyze the trends influencing society, the economy, and technology. Our ambition goes beyond forecasting what lies ahead: we openly share this knowledge and foster collaboration to generate real, lasting impact.
This edition of the Forum focused on the future of the semiconductor industry, bringing together Spanish and international experts in chip manufacturing, computer architecture, and emerging materials. The event featured prominent figures, including the former head of IMEC Europe, the former CEO of GlobalFoundries, and a former NASA director.
Osman Unsal, Group Manager of Computer Architecture for Parallel Paradigms, took part in a panel discussion on emerging materials—highlighting their potential to address AI’s energy challenges—as well as on silicon photonics, a technology expected to see widespread adoption within the next five years.
